For patients registered with The Pinn Medical Centre
For our registered patients, the Pinn offers several different types of appointments. Firstly, an “on the day” appointment with any available doctor if the matter is urgent. If this is not the case you can make an appointment with with the doctor of your choice within 3 weeks. Appointments can be booked from 8.15am to 7:30pm, seven days a week using the phone. They can be booked 24 hours a day using our internet booking system.
Our phone lines are open from 08:15 a.m. to 7:30 p.m, 7 days a week. We receive a large volume of calls between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. every day, so you may find it easier to call after these hours.
Your appointment will allow you to spend 10 minutes with the doctor. If you have a number of problems, the doctor may not be able to deal with all of them during this time and may ask you to book another appointment. This will avoid delaying patients waiting to see the doctor after you.
We have also introduced a new telephone booking system which will allow you to book an appointment for the on the day you are calling, or for at appointment in the future. It is possible to ask the system for a male or female doctor, for an AM or PM slot, or even for a specific doctor.
We would encourage you to use this system to try and avoid unnecessary delays for reception to answer your call. You will need to know your date of birth and registered home phone number. If you have any problems using the system, please do not hesitate to discuss these issues with our reception staff.
Why not save time and book your appointment on-line at www.thepinn.co.uk? You will need to register for this service beforehand at reception, and obtain a pass-code.
Please ensure that you cancel any appointments that you no longer require or cannot keep. Each week patients who do not turn up for their appointments result in all others having to wait longer for appointments.
For patients not registered with The Pinn
The Pinn is a GP Led Health Centre that offers a “walk in service” for patients who are NOT registered with the surgery. This is a basic service to provide what medical care is necessary UNTIL that patient can be seen by their own GP. As always, an emergency situation will be dealt with by a doctor immediately regardless of the registration status of the patient.
What if I need an urgent appointment ?
An urgent condition is one that cannot be reasonably expected to wait until the next routine appointment. If your condition is urgent, please inform the reception team and we will see you as a matter of urgency although you cannot be guaranteed the time, or doctor, of your choice.
The doctor will be informed that you have requested an urgent appointment, and will only deal with one problem during this appointment.
